How it all began

Hi! My name is Amber Williams, and I developed my love for sewing at a young age when my mom taught me how to sew a button to a piece of scrap fabric. I enjoyed sewing random fabric together to see what I could create, never using a pattern - "Miss Independent." Choosing Line and Design as my 4-H project in 4th grade was a great decision. From citizenship activities to state competitions, I learned so much more than how to sew. I learned the importance of using my talent to help others. I am passionate about teaching kids how to sew, because it is an art that should never be forgotten. I proceeded to work for David's Bridal's alterations department during college and graduated in 2017 with a degree in Marketing/Advertising. 

Since starting Topstitch Alterations in 2016, I’ve been serving the Tri-Cities Tennessee and Southwest Virginia area with professional alteration services and specializing in bridal and special occasion dresses. Always bringing a creative and professional approach to the table, my goal is to help you look and feel your absolute best.
